The Miele Art is only one of the models of Miele vaccum cleaners. Many home owners love the Miele Art because it maneuvers like an upright vacuum while having the power of a canister and the convenience and ease of a stick broom.
The Miele Art vacuum cleaner is suitable for low pile carpeting and hard floors. Just like the other models of Miele vacuums, the Art also uses certified HEPA filters that can trap 99.9 percent of particles down to the size of 0.3 microns. The exterior of the Miele Art vacuum is made of plastic. If you do not like the look of its exterior, you can opt to refinish the exterior surface of your Miele Art vacuum. However, in doing so, you must take into consideration some critical points. First, plastic is a non-porous material which makes it ill-suited for new finishes. Thus, in order to prepare it or make it more suitable for a new paint, you must abrade it lightly using sandpaper. Second, you must keep in mind that heavy flaking is one of the possible results in refinishing a plastic surface. In order to avoid heavy flaking, you must use a durable paint that is formulated for heavy use.
Use masking paper or painter’s tape to cover and protect the portions of your Miele Art vacuum you do not want painted. Make sure that you work in a ventilated area and the vacuum is placed on a heavy duty drop cloth. Coat the vacuum with acrylic spray primer. Be sure that you maintain an 8 inch distance between the spray nozzle and the vacuum for even application. Wait three hours for the primer to dry before coating your vacuum with acrylic spray enamel and wait for the paint to dry.
